§ Mr. Brothertonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many parking offences involving cars with diplomatic immunity signs have been reported to date in the current year.
§ Mr. BrittanThe available information relates only to alleged offences within the Metropolitan Police district, and is for the period 1 January–30 April 1980. In that period, 16,671 fixed penalty notices issued by traffic wardens were cancelled in respect of vehicles carrying registration marks identifying them as belonging to persons entitled to diplomatic immunity. In addition, 20 alleged parking offences by persons with diplomatic immunity have been reported by the police so far this year.
