§ 29. Mr. Dormandasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will increase the grants to the National Playbus Association and to the Gingerbread organisation; and if he will make a statement.
§ Sir George YoungThe Department has recently agreed to increase its grant to the National Playbus Association for this financial year from £6,500 to £13,000. Gingerbread is currently receiving a grant of £30,000 per annum. Officials of the Department are in touch with Gingerbread about its present financial problems. I am fully aware of the valuable work carried out by both these organisations.
