HC Deb 30 January 1980 vol 977 c698W
Mr. McQuarrie

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will immediately set up an inquiry either to find a profitable use for the Royal high school, Edinburgh, or to advertise it for sale in order to cut public expenditure.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

The Property Services Agency has already offered to the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities a lease of some of the accommodation on the old Royal high school site. This will not prejudice possible future parliamentary use. The agency is also exploring alternative uses for the property.
