§ 61. Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give an estimate of average increase in council house rents over the next three years.
§ Mr. HeseltineThe level of rent increases will depend on the decisions of local authorities. I issued a guideline of £1.50 last November. Decisions of local authorities will be made in the light of that guideline and of any further guidelines issued, and within the framework of the new subsidy system which will come into operation in 1981–82.
