§ Mr. Bradleyasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will investigate the prices charged for 100 per cent. spun polyester cloth made in Korea, compared with English yarn prices, to establish whether Leicester manufacturers are experiencing unfair competition; whether he will discuss this isssue within the EEC, with a view to early anti-dumping action; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. ParkinsonResponsibility for taking action against dumped or subsidised imports rests with the European Commission. If the United Kingdom industry can provide evidence that it is being injured by the dumping of this material from South Korea, I shall approach the Commission for appropriate action. Imports of all woven fabrics of man-made fibres from Korea are already restricted to 377 tonnes for 1980 under the multi-fibre arrangement.
