§ Sir Nigel Fisherasked the Lord Privy Seal what loans and grants have been made by Her Majesty's Government to Jamaica since 1972.
§ Mr. HurdAgreements were concluded in 1978 for three loans totalling £25.5 million and in 1979 for a loan of £2 million. These were all for the purchase of British goods, as part of an assistance programme led by the International Monetary Fund and World Bank and supported by other donor countries.
The only grant made was £36,000 for disaster relief. However, technical cooperation has been provided to a total of just over £5 million, while investment by the Commonwealth Development Corporation amounted to some £11.5 million in 1972–78.
