HC Deb 22 February 1980 vol 979 cc368-9W
Mr. Ashley

asked the Minister for the Civil Service how many registered disabled people are employed in each Government Department and what percentage of each Department's total work force these figures represent; and if he will publish the target each Department hopes to achieve by the middle of the current year.

Mr. Channon

The numbers of registered disabled people employed in each Government Department at 1 June 1979 and the percentage of each Department's total work force that these figures represent are:

the middle of the current year have not been set, but each Government Department is well aware that it is regarded as a separate employer with a duty to employ at least 3 per cent. disabled staff. Only last month I asked Departments to ensure that no opportunities were missed in promoting the employment of the disabled in the Civil Service.
