§ Mr. Rossi[pursuant to his reply on 11 February, c. 502]: I understand that during the period 1 October 1976 to 31 December 1979 203 complainants of unfair dismissal were legally represented at hearings before industrial tribunals in Northern Ireland. A further 167 complainants were represented by a trade union representative.
§ Mr. Fittasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many dismissed employees appearing before industrial tribunals in Northern Ireland for unfair dismissal were reinstated by order of the tribunal.
§ Mr. Rossi[pursuant to his reply on 11 February, c. 503]: I understand that during the period 10 October 1976 to 31 December 1979, orders were made by the industrial tribunals in Northern Ireland for the reinstatement of six employees found to have been unfairly dismissed.
§ Mr. Fittasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many interim relief cases have been heard before industrial tribunals in Northern Ireland: how many were successful; how many 385W were rejected; and if he will make available to interested parties, including hon. Members representing Northern Ireland constituencies, copies of these cases.
§ Mr. Rossi[pursuant to his reply on 11 February, c. 503]: I understand that during the period 10 October 1976 to 31 December 1979 industrial tribunals in Northern Ireland heard 16 applications for interim relief in connection with complaints of unfair dismissal. One application was granted; 15 were dismissed.
Decisions of industrial tribunals are entered in a register which is open to inspection at the central office of the industrial tribunals in Belfast. Decisions of general application and particular interest, selected by the president of the industrial tribunals, are communicated to interested parties.
