§ Mr. Stanbrookasked the Secretary of State for Trade what steps have been taken to prevent the dumping of products from the Soviet Union on the United Kingdom market.
§ Mr. ParkinsonResponsibility for taking action against dumped or subsidised imports which are causing injury to a Community industry rests with the618W European Commission. In recent months imports of Soviet-produced sodium carbonate and lithium hydroxide have been subjected to anti-dumping duties and imports of fibre building board, integral horsepower electric motors, mechanical alarm clocks and ball bearings are currently under investigation by the Commission. There have also been preliminary discussions between officials of my Department's advisory anti-dumping unit and the industries concerned on imports of Soviet Christmas cards and a number of other products.
