§ Mr. Wyn RobertsAll local authorities have been requested to reduce their current expenditure in 1980–81 by 1 per cent. compared with 1979–80. It is for authorities to determine their expenditure priorities, but the measures proposed in the Education (No. 2) Bill will make possible substantial savings in the education sector without affecting basic educational standards.
