asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will list the organisations which have been asked to comment on the proposal to pay child benefit monthly.

The following organisaions concerned with the welfare of families with children have been sent copies of the consultative document and invited to offer views: Child Poverty Action Group, National Council for One Parent Families, Scottish Council for Single Parents, Gingerbread, Family Service Unit, Family Welfare Association, National Council for Voluntary Organisations and Cruse (the national organisation for the widowed and their children).

In addition a number of other organisations, which may have views on the arrangements for paying child benefit have been asked if they wish to comment. They are: the National Consumer Council, National Federation of Women's Institutes, National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, Scottish Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, National Council of Social Services and the Local Authority Association. It is open to any other organisation or individual to offer their views on the proposals in the consultative document.
