Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will list the comparative percentage increase in unit costs in manufacturing industry in each of the European Economic Community countries and the United States of America and Japan between 1975 and 1980.

Information is available only on unit labour costs as opposed to total unit costs and only for some of those countries. The increases were as follows:
