Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will publish a table showing the total amount of butter, wheat, meat and other agricultural produce exported to Soviet Russia and other East European countries since the invasion of Afghanistan by the Soviets; if he will specify the subsidies paid on such exports; and if he will publish the comparable totals of subsidised food exports in the same period of each of the previous five years.

Figures of actual exports to the Soviet Union and other East European countries in 1980 will not be available for some months. The European Commission has provided provisional figures of shipments where available or of the quantities for which export refunds have been fixed in relation to exports to those destinations. The costs of the export subsidies for particular periods and destinations are not separately identified in Community statistics.

The latest figures provided by the Commission for the current year to date and for the previous five years are as follows:
