§ Mr. Marlowasked the Minister of Transport what will be the annual financial and energy cost of using the new street lights recently erected between the M1 and Weedon; and how many road movements and accidents there have been in each of the last three years on the above stretch of road (a) by day and (b) by night.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThe annual cost of maintenance will be £1,227; the cost of energy will be £1,841.
The last count on this length of road was in September 1978. Adjusted for day and night, the annual traffic movements were 3,863,410 by day, and 78,810 by night. The number of accidents were as follows:
