asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will support the committee under the chairmanship of Sir George Middleton, former ambassador to Lebanon, to establish a zone of peace around Tyre to save its archaeological sites.

Her Majesty's Government share the Committee's concern about the situation in South Lebanon and the need to safeguard the archaeological sites of Tyre. However, I have no information about what precisely is meant by declaring Tyre "a zone of peace" and I cannot comment on this proposal.
