Information on the numbers of workers temporarily stopped on the day of the monthly unemployment count is published on a regular basis in theEmployment Gazette as is information on the incidence of short-time working among manual operatives in manufacturing industries. In addition, statistics are available on the numbers covered by the temporary short-time working compensation scheme which was introduced in April 1979. These are as follows:
