§ Sir George YoungThese films, which are used only in certain sexual assessment and treatment procedures, have not been shown to any juveniles. The youngest patient was 20 years of age.

§ Sir George YoungPatients are referred to the psychology department for assessment or treatment by the responsible medical officer (who is a consultant psychiatrist) either directly or as a result of a multi-disciplinary case conference.
Any member of the staff of the hospitals' psychology departments may be involved in the sexual assessment/treatment procedures which use these films, but not all have been. The numbers, grades and qualifications of the present staff of the departments are as follows:—

There are also from time to time probationer clinical psychologists working in the department under the direct supervision of a Senior Clinical Psychologist. All probationers hold a good honours degree in psychology.
Technicians do not undertake work on their own account but work under supervision.
Nursing staff acting as escorts to the patient concerned are also in attendance. This is routine security procedure when a patient attends any department of the hospital.
