HC Deb 06 August 1980 vol 990 c155W
Mr. Iain Mills

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his policy on the use of the statutory powers of Her Majesty's Customs commissioners in order to obtain confirmatory information from one party of trading by a second party where the second party is claiming payment of drawback of Customs duty paid on goods exported.

Mr. Peter Rees

I assume that my hon. Friend is referring to repayments of duty under the inward processing relief regulations. The policy of Her Majesty's Customs and Excise is to assist exporters to obtain this relief. Where more than one trader is involved, Customs has devised a standard procedure for the necessary confirmatory information to be made available.
