asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will indicate the international consortia in which the United Kingdom is engaged relating to the liquefaction of coal; and whether he proposes associating the National Coal Board with the Gulf Mineral Resources-Ruhrhohle-Mitsui Group.

The United Kingdom is not engaged in any international consortia relating to coal liquefaction and no association with the Gulf Mineral Resources-Ruhrkohle-Mitsui Group is proposed.
