§ Mr. Norman Atkinsonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list all the benefit rights of a woman who is a dependant of her husband as against a man who is a dependant of his wife.
§ Mrs. ChalkerNo benefit rights are conferred on a person by virtue of being the dependant of another person. However, entitlement to certain benefits can be acquired on a spouse's contributions,viz. maternity grant, category B retirement pension and widowhood benefits.
