HC Deb 21 April 1980 vol 983 cc34-5W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he has made arrangements for British representation in an observer capacity at the " Alexander Kielland " inquiry.

Mr. Gray

Formal arrangements have not been made for a British observer at the official inquiry; however, other suitable arrangements for my Department to obtain all relevant information are in hand.

The Norwegian Government have set up two interim committees to make preliminary recommendations, and my officials are in close touch with the organisations concerned. Norwegian Ministers have extended their fullest cooperation.
