HC Deb 17 April 1980 vol 982 cc718-9W
Mr. Jessel

asked the Lord Privy Seal what action he has taken in connection with the recommendations adopted by the general conference of UNESCO at its twentieth session.

Mr. Neil Marten

There were four such recommendations:

  1. (i) Revised recommendation concerning international competitions in architecture and town planning;
  2. (ii) Recommendation for the protection of movable cultural property;
  3. (iii) Revised recommendation concerning the international standardisation of educational statistics;
  4. (iv) Recommendation concerning the international standardisation of statistics relating to science and technology.

The relevant Government Departments have been advised of the adoption of these recommendations. The Governments of the Dependent Territories have also been informed of the adoption of these recommendations for such action as they consider necessary. I have arranged for copies of all four recommendations to be placed in the Libraries of the Houses of Parliament.
