§ Mr. BrittanAfter consulting representatives of the judiciary, the legal profession, chief officers of police and others, we are satisfied that the Court of Appeal's guidelines on identification evidence deal effectively with the problem identified by the Devlin committee and we see no need for legislation. We have informed the Royal Commission on criminal procedure of the results of the consultations and of the conclusions we have reached.
