asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why the Standing Commission on pay comparability for the eight professions supplementary to medicine is reviewing these professions together and not separately.

The Standing Commission on pay comparability reviewed these professions together with other related staff groups following the request of the negotiating body concerned, the professional and technical 'A' Whitley Council, and referral by the last Administration. The pay of all these groups has been linked for some years.
