§ Mr. Rookerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many occupational pensioners, aged under 65 years, receive pensions in excess of (a) £50 per week, (b) £100 per week and (c) £200 per week.
§ Mr. PrenticeI am advised that about 170,000 people under 65 receive occupational pensions over £50 per week of whom about 35,000 receive over £100 per week and about 4,000 receive over £200 per week. These estimates are at 1979–80 income levels. They are based on the numbers in the 1977–78 Inland Revenue survey of personal incomes and it has been assumed that their pensions have 523W increased broadly in line with the general index of retail prices.
