§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, in view of the widespread concern at the situation on the West Coast of Scotland during the mackerel fishing season as a result of the granting of seven-day fishing licences, the opposition of many persons, including the churches, to such licences and the threats to the fish population of seven day fishing, he will undertake to discuss all licens- 260W ing periods in future with the fishermen's organisations and to act on their recommendations.
