§ Mr. John Browneasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether it is his policy that the protection against snaring now afforded to domestic animals should be extended to wild animals in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. MonroIn accordance with the convention on the conservation of European wildlife and natural habitat and the European Economic Community directive on the conservation of wild birds, the Government are including provision in their Wildlife and the Countryside Bill banning the use of snares except for pest control and special circumstances.
