HC Deb 23 October 1979 vol 972 c124W
19. Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many primary schools have been closed in Cambridgeshire in each of the past three years.

Dr. Boyson

No such primary schools were closed in 1977. In 1978 the authority ceased to maintain nine schools, of which the premises of one were annexed to a nearby primary school and those of another three have been kept in use as satellites for the Cheveley federation of primary schools. In 1979 there has been one closure.
