§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he proposes to call in for public inquiry the use as a military training area of 3,000 acres of Dartmoor around Cranber Tor as proposed by the Minister of Defence.
§ Mr. FoxThe notice of proposed development by the Ministry of Defence is still under consideration by the local planning authority. If it objects to the proposal it will be for my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Defence, to decide whether he wishes to proceed. If so, the proposal will be referred to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State 83W for the Environment to decide whether a public inquiry is necessary.
