Mr. Trippier

asked the Secretary of State for Trade (1) if he will make a statement on the decisions made at the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on 20 November regarding the curbing of the upsurge of imports of man-made fibres and products from the United States of America;

(2) what was the volume of United Kingdom imports of man-made fibre sheets and pillowcases in 1977, 1978 and in the first nine months of 1979, respectively;

(3) what was the volume of United Kingdom imports of man-made fibre tufted carpets in 1977, 1978 and in the first nine months of 1979, respectively;

(4) what was the volume of United Kingdom imports of polyester filament yarn from the United States of America
