§ Mr. HurdFunds from the aid programme will continue to finance the training in Britain of a substantial number of overseas students from developing countries. As at present, the large majority of such students will be nominated by their Governments for selected courses within schemes of technical co-operation related to the manpower needs of the countries concerned. None of these programmes is aimed primarily at benefiting individual poor students; like other technical co-operation schemes they are designed to assist overseas Governments tackle social and economic problems by706W training key personnel. The future of the fee support scheme, which has been available to help a limited number of individual postgraduates, is under review. Aid programme funds will continue to help finance various scholarship schemes such as the Commonwealth scholarship and fellowship plan.
