§ Mr. Fosterasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, if he has any proposals to extend the basic adult education to assist the long-term unemployed to acquire marketable skills.

My right hon. and learned Friend is studying the case for some continued central support for work in adult literacy and in work related to the basic skills needed for employment.
