HL Deb 27 November 1979 vol 403 c387WA
Lord HOUGHTON of SOWERBY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

(i) What is the total cost to date of the road widening scheme on the A.23 at Hooley, (ii) what was the date of acquisition of the land and (iii) when the work is likely to be completed.

Lord MOWBRAY and STOURTON

The A.23 trunk road widening scheme at Hooley was combined with a junction improvement scheme at Star Lane in July of this year. The estimated cost overall is now £675,000 of which £263,000 has been spent on the acquisition of land and preparatory works. Land acquisition commenced in December 1975 and negotiations for the final plot are well advanced. Tenders have been invited and it is hoped that the work will be completed by the end of next year.
