The Scottish and Wales Tourist Boards are the responsibilities of my right hon. Friends the respective Secretaries of State. They are funded in a similar way to the English Board—the amounts are shown in class IV, Votes 5 and 6 of the Supply Estimates. From its grant the WTB assists the three regional tourism councils in Wales; there are no comparable regional organisations in Scotland.
Government assistance given by other Departments to various bodies indirectly encourages tourism.
