§ Mr. Jim LesterAn inquiry was carried out in September 1979 by Amble jobcentre on behalf of a prospective employer who had asked about the availability of sewing machinists in Amble. Callers at the jobcentre were invited to say whether they would be interested in such work if it were available, and details of those expressing interest were sent to the firm concerned.
