HL Deb 13 November 1979 vol 402 cc1240-2WA
Baroness FISHER of REDNAL

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they are satisfied with their policy of training specialists in blind welfare.

Lord CULLEN of ASHBOURNE

The Government are in regular contact with the organisations concerned with the training of staff to provide specialized services for blind people including the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work, the Regional Associations for the Blind and the Royal National Institute for the Blind. If the noble Baroness has any particular points that she would like to raise about training, I know that my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Social Services would be glad to consider them.

House adjourned at twenty-four minutes past ten o'clock.
