HC Deb 12 November 1979 vol 973 cc410-1W
Mr. Alton

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he is satisfied with the safety of batteries used in hearing aids and pocket calculators.

Mrs. Sally Oppenheim

[pursuant to her reply, 5 November 1979, c. 91]: I have no reason to believe that batteries currently available for use in hearing aids and pocket calculators are unsafe. If the hon. Member has any information which suggests that such batteries present a hazard of any kind, I shall be grateful to receive it.
