§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsThe number of teachers on a full-time equivalent basis employed in the maintained sector in Wales in January 1979 was as follows:
Nursery, primary and secondary sector 29,785 Special education establishments 804 Further education establishments 3,806 34,395 It is for individual authorities to decide how to allocate their financial resources among the various services they provide, including the employment of teachers. It is not possible, therefore, to say how many teachers will be employed in 1980–81.
