HL Deb 07 November 1979 vol 402 c978WA
Lord AVEBURY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Approximately how many letters from Members of both Houses of Parliament are received by the Home Office Minister concerned with immigration and nationality in the course of a typical month, and of these, about how many are to do with delays in processing applications for registration or naturalisation as a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies, and matters connected therewith.

Lord BELSTEAD

In July 1,243 such letters were received of which it is estimated that about 95 were concerned with delays in processing applications for citizenship.
