§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he intends to adhere to a commitment to reduce the average family practitioner's list to 1,700 during the next few years.
§ Sir George YoungReduction in list sizes is clearly desirable in the interests of both patients and doctors but it is not practicable at present to set a specific target. Continuing progress depends mainly on recruitment to general practice and I expect the steady increase in the number of general practitioners to continue.
