§ Lord O'HAGANasked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether the conditions they impose on officials seconded to the institutions of the EEC are comparable to those imposed by other member States on their nationals.
§ Lord PEARTOfficials are seconded to the institutions of the EEC under the "Seconded Experts" and "Temporary Exchange" Schemes. The conditions for British officials are in both cases the same as those for officials from other member States except in one respect. In temporary exchanges between the Commission and the Home Civil Service, the parent institution pays the appropriate allowances to the secondee; but in such exchanges between the Commission and other members States they are paid by the institution to which the individual is seconded. These provisions apply to exchanges in both directions.
