HC Deb 27 March 1979 vol 965 c129W
Mr Penhaligon

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what was the total amount spent by the National Enterprise Board in Cornwall; and how much this represents per head of registered unemployed.

Mr. Les Huckfield

NEB subsidiaries have operations in Falmouth and Penryn. The value of these investments is a matter for the companies.

Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what shareholdings the National Enterprise Board has in British Underwater Engineering Ltd.; when these were acquired; what percentage of the total equity these shares represent; and what was the cost to the Board.

Mr. Les Huckfield

The Board intends to acquire an initial holding of 89 per cent. of the company's shares, but has not yet done so. The cost is a matter for the Board.
