asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many military units are curently detached from the British Army of the Rhine to Northern Ireland.

Of the seven major units currently serving on emergency tours in Northern Ireland, four are detached from the British Army of the Rhine.

In addition, five major supporting arms and Service units are currently detached from the British Army of the Rhine.
