§ Mr. James Whiteasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will announce the grant in aid for the Scottish Sports Council for 1979–80 and the percentage increase over that for 1978–79.
§ Mr. McElhoneSubject to parliamentary approval, the grant in aid to the Scottish Sports Council for 1979–80 will be £2.8 million. The initial grant in aid for 1978–79 was £2.1 million, and during the year I have been able to announce further grants of £0.4 million to bring the total to £2.5 million. The 1978–80 grant is therefore 33 per cent. higher than the initial 1978–79 figure.
