Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales (1) in view of the result of the referendum on the Wales Act 1978, what he intends to do about the future of the Welsh Council;

(2) what proposals he now has for organisation of the Countryside Commission in Wales in the light of the recent referendum result.

Mr. John Morris

The situation in Wales following the outcome of the referendum will be considered by the Government, where appropriate in consultation with other interests concerned.
