asked the Secretary of State for Industry what is the number of offers made, and the number of offers accepted, and their value, under the footwear industry scheme, for firms to engage consultants to review their operations.

As at the end of February 1979, 36 offers valued at £112,000 had been made under the consultancy provisions of the footwear scheme. Of these, 23 offers, valued at £58,000, had been accepted.
