§ Mr. St. John-Stevasasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what consultations he has held with interested bodies on the EEC discussion document,"Community Action in the Cultural Sector ".
§ Mr. LuardThis document contains a wide-ranging list of possible actions for consideration by the Parliaments and Governments of member States and by the economic and social committee and the320W European Assembly. The House took note of it on division, after debate, on 23 June 1978. It is likely that it will be the subject of debate in another place during the next few months.
The economic and social committee approved the document last December. In January this year the European Assembly also endorsed it.
It is now for the European Commission to formulate specific proposals. Until these emerge it would be premature to institute consultations.
