§ 35. Mr. Hastingsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he will make a further statement on relations between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of Iran, particularly in so far as British interests in that country are affected.
§ Dr. OwenI look forward to the development of good relations with the Government of Iran. We have many close interests in common—in particular trade—which go back over many years. I hope that the new Government of Iran will be successful in restoring calm and reviving the economy.
