§ Mr. Cowansasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many applications have been made by (a) the South of Scotland Electricity Board and (b) the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board for grants under section 8 of the Railways Act 1974 and with what result; and what action he has taken to encourage such applications.
§ Mr. Gregor MacKenzieThe Scottish electricity boards have not so far had occasion to apply for assistance under section 8 of the Railways Act 1974, but they are fully aware of the availability of these grants.
