Lord PresidentThe staff of the Speaker's Office and all the staff in the present five Departments of the House, namely:
the Department of the Clerk of the House,
the Department of the Serjeant at Arms,
the Department of the Library,
the Administration Department, and
the Department of the Official Report have pension rights in accordance with Section (2)3 of the House of Commons (Administration) Act 1978. A pension scheme for the staff of the Refreshment Department, as recommended in the Eighth Report of the Services Committee of last session (HC 618), is at present under consideration. I shall put forward proposals to the House as soon as possible.
